I purchased a desk chair that was previously returned for half price. I was told there was no damage, and when I recieved it there was major defects, scratches and gauges all over the chair. [...] I still feel the cost was not worth the condition of the chair.

This chair goes with a Captain's Bed & Desk from the Berg Collection. It's a great addition.
This chair is really sturdy, so a child can use it at age 3 or 4 all the way through to adulthood. Adults can also use the chair to sit with the child while doing homework or projects. This is much better than having to sit on a small, flimsy chair.
The only thing I would change is something that could make it a bit more comfortable. Maybe a pillow or something else.
